The history of Bulgaria is an example for melting pot of many civilizations: Thracian, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman… From ancient times people left many architectural and cultural monuments that are still preserved and protected by national and world organizations.

Car or train can cross the territory of the country for one day and the beauty of the nature is so diverse, that the landscape is changing every half hour - from mountains through meadows and forests to the Black sea coast.

Bulgarian main religion is an orthodox Christianity. There are many churches and monasteries, harmonically blended withy some roman buildings and Muslim mosques.

On the way to Momchilovtzi we will show you the city of Plovdiv, the second largest in the country, famous among the historians with its artifacts from the time of Philip the Macedonian. Plovdiv was the center of the first Bulgarian kingdom. Nearby in Asenovgrad, high into the mountains is the tsar Asen's castle-citadel from 13th century.

The next stop will be the Bachkovski monastery, build by carpenters and masons from Georgia.     The village of Momchilovtzi is situated in the heart of Rhodopa Mountains. This was the first village, starting the ecological and agrarian tourism in Bulgaria.     There are many small hotels with mehanas (home oriented restaurants). The village is famous for its feta cheese and the tasty potatoes.     The Nature is magnificent - endless meadows and solemn pine forests with hiking trails.

Welcome and enjoy!
